If you’ve ever doubted Queen Belcalis’ ability to throw down, her latest celebration will make you feel like a fool. On Tuesday, the “I Like It” rapper threw a Baby B shower that was straight out of a fairy tale. Literally.
Cardi’s “A Bronx Fairy Tale” themed shower was a party with all of the fine trimmings.

Earlier this month, Cardi B underlined her desire to have a pretty ‘lit’ baby shower in her profile with Rolling stone saying “My baby shower’s not starting at no 5:00. My sh*t is going to start at 9 p.m. because that’s how I celebrate, that’s how Caribbean people celebrate.” And lit it was.
The American-born Dominican-Trinidadian hosted the extravagant bash in Atlanta for her closet friends and family. Vogue.com got the exclusive feature on images from the event which was put together by event planner Karleen Roy who told the site that she had imagined “a magical and imaginary Bronx land fit for the quintessential baby girl” for the big day. According to Vogue, the party featured over 26,000 pink and white flowers, a “Bardi Baby Bodega” that had ribbon-wrapped diapers instead of food, and a “Bardi Baby Book Library” which showcased children’s books by classic Latina and African-American writers including ones by Lil Libros. Decorations also included pink models of street signs, New York City subway cars, and garbage cans.
The stops didn’t end with decorations though, Bardi made sure to include her heritage with soul food and Dominican treats.

Besides getting to sip on coquito cocktails and Hennessy shots (shout out toCardi B’s little sister), her guests also got to much on piraguas and soul food. And, of course, Cardi went over the top when it comes to dessert. Her big party cake had five tiers and featured layers of her favorite flavors including strawberry, red velvet, chocolate ganache, honey bun and Dominican pineapple. The rapper topped off the end of the night for her guests with party favors that included custom-made purple baby blankets in the style of the portrait shawl paparazzi captured her wearing to an airport recently. The message? Things down under might be poppin’ pretty soon for the rapper, but she still letting herself enjoy this time in her life and have some laughs.
TBH we’re laughing with joy right alongside with her. This shower was the thing of dreams and it’s so exciting that she was able to do this for her family and herself. Super ready for that belly of hers to start making baby moves!
