Cardi B Just Dropped Her Latest Collaboration With Kehlani And We Can’t Ignore The 90s R&B Vibes

Cardi B brought all of the moods and vibes for her first post-pregnancy music video. In her first music video collaboration with Kehlani, the Dominican and Trinidadian rapper brought new life to the 90s and R&B soul with their latest video which accompanied their song “Ring” from Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy album.

The two artists dropped the video on Monday giving fans some major throwback vibes for all of their 90s moods.

The new music video plays up the lyrics of the song, with Cardi B and Kehlani tangled up in a mass of old-school telephone wires and singing in phone booths. For their latest collaboration, both of the artists rock long platinum blonde hair and oily-slick colored jackets and outfits. As current and up to date as the visuals look, it’s exciting to see the video and receive a heavy dose of 90s Black girl group vibes like the ones we once got from groups like 702 or Destiny’s Child. Of course, there’s no overlooking the ways in which the two music artists’ matching hair looks will make you take a double take the way Shakira and Beyonce made everyone do back in 2006.

The new video might be a signal that Cardi B is ready to emerge after being on maternity leave.

In the months that followed the birth of Cardi B and her husband Offset’s daughter Kulture back in July, fans have worried that the Afro-Latina rapper had plans to take a break from music for longer than they’d anticipated. In recent weeks the new mother has shared her struggles with postpartum and been honest about what it has been like to be a new mother. At the end of July, the rapper pulled out of her tour with Bruno Mars saying that she had “underestimated” the demands of being a new mother. Earlier this month, however, she announced that she would be headlining the Tropicália Music and Taco Festival. The new music video is giving fans hope that Cardi B will be back on her feet and in the studio and stages sooner than we’d come to believe.

Fans of the two singers were super hyped about their latest collaboration.

Cardi B and Kehlani launched their collab “Ring” the song back in April with the release of Cardi’s first official album “Invasion of Privacy.”

Seriously people cannot stop tweeting about how hard they killed this music video.

Their latest pairing up has many of us DYING for more CahlaniB collabs in the future.

And everyone is pretty ready to copy their looks.

BrB gotta go get my platinum wig and silver raincoat.

People are already shipping the pair for future collaborations (in and outside of the music studio)

And TBH if you wouldn’t want these two LAtina Ice Queens as your moms you lyin’.

Kehlani Welcomes Baby Girl After “Hard But Powerful” Unmedicated Home Birth

R&B star Kehlani is a mommy. The singer welcomed her first child, baby girl Adeya, over the weekend.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Lani disclosed that she had an unmedicated home birth, describing the experience as both strenuous and beautiful.

“This weekend our angel arrived healthy & perfect in every way in our bathroom at home,” the 23-year-old crooner captioned a photo of a baby blanket with colorful pine trees. “Unmedicated home birth was the absolute hardest yet most powerful thing I’ve ever done. Thankful beyond words. In love beyond comparison.”

Lani, who had her first baby with guitarist Javie Young-White, talked more about her decision to have a home birth on Twitter.

“All birth is extremely hard and transformative,” she said. “Home birth is a medical decision as is hospital birth, all birth is mind blowing & powerful. … it’s a next level journey whichever way.”

While emphasizing the splendor and power of childbirth, she didn’t deny the physical pain that accompanies it.

“But I hope everyone knows no one can tell me SHIT after that because LORD…next level, no words!”

Lani said she wouldn’t be posting on social media much in order to rest and spend time with her new family but sent her gratitude to her fans for their love, support and well wishes.

Days before the birth of her child, Lani released the music video for “Butterfly,” which appears on the singer’s While We Wait mixtape that dropped last month.

Video Dug Up From Cardi B’s Past Shows Her Saying She Used To Drug And Rob Men

Stay grateful you did not grow up in the era of Snapchat/ Instagram/ Facebook kids because you can delete but your recorded actions can still come back to bite. Cardi B knows the story. While the Afro-Latina queen of Trap isn’ making any apologies, the latest video to be dug up from her past is requiring her to give some answers.

Video of the singer, recalling a time in her life in which she felt forced to drug and rob men while seducing them has resurfaced.

Over the weekend, video of the “Money” rapper recalling how she used to drug and rob men resurfaced.

The video, which was recorded during an Instagram live broadcast, sees Cardi as she goes on a tearful verbal tirade about her past. This after, someone apparently questioned her success and accused her of not “putting in no fucking work.”

“I had to go ‘oh yeah, you wanna fuck me? Yeah yeah yeah let’s go to this hotel.’ And then I’d drug [expletivie] up and I’d rob them. That’s what I used to do.”

Users online were quick to comment.

“The fact that cardi b admitted to drugging and robbing men she would take back to a hotel for sex blows my mind,” wrote Twitter user @itsangelaa. “That’s not ‘keeping it real.’ that’s a crime.”

“I wonder what woulda happened if it were the other way round,” @BTSisthecauseo5 commented.

At the onset of the backlash, the rapper seemed to take the comments rather lightly.

The following day she also tweeted “IM THAT BITCH THEY LOVE TO HATE, IM THAT BITCH THEY HATE TO LOVE and I love it.”

On Tuesday, however, after users on Instagram and Twitter continued to simmer, she was forced to issue comment.

In a post to her Instagram, the rapper responded to the comments about the video by saying: “I’m a part of a hip hop culture where you can talk about where you come from talk about the wrong things you had to do to get where you are.”
