Jennifer Lopez proved once more that she is entertainment royalty. The Latina megastar headlined the 2018 DIRECTV NOW Super Saturday Night concert, a pre-Super Bowl LII show, and was without a doubt the queen of the weekend.
Before “Jenny from the Block” took the stage at Minneapolis’ The Armory on Saturday night, she reminded viewers of her Caribbean roots. Trees indigenous to her motherland Puerto Rico linked the entryway while fans took a virtual trip through the island’s rainforest via an experimental installation for the 90-minute concert that raised money for victims of Hurricane Maria.
With the temperature barely at double digits, J.Lo brought isla heat to the city, rocking the evening with hits like “I’m Real” and “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and claiming her title as dancing monarch with high-energy dance breaks to today’s biggest tunes, like Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow,” J. Balvin’s “Mi Gente” and Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang.”
Switching into eight sizzling looks, from a leopard-print catsuit to a blue fringed mini dress to red lingerie, the entertainer didn’t disappoint.
“She killed everything,” one fan wrote in a post on Instagram.
While others considered her show better than Justin Timberlake’s halftime performance and called for her to be next year’s prime musical guest.
I KNOW after that lackluster halftime show last night they not calling Taylor Swift!

The evening wasn’t just special for fans, though. The date also marked her and Alex Rodriguez’s one-year dating anniversary. Lopez gave the former MLB player, who was in the audience, a shout-out.
“We’ve been together for one year today. I don’t want to get all mushy or anything, but baby, this song’s for you. I love you,” she said, as dominicano Rodriguez looked on googly-eyed.
