With the sun shining brighter and beaches packing up, summer flings are upon us — and Audri Nix just dropped a catchy new song to get us through the complicated romance.
In “Complicado,” the Puerto Rican singer-rapper croons about the painful complexity of defining the status of a new love over a poppy trap-dancehall beat produced by Take A Day Trip, a New York-based duo that has worked with acts like Lil Yachty and Quavo.
The honeyed track — the 23-year-old up-and-comer’s first since her 2016 jam “Más” — is accompanied by a dream-like visual, produced by Puerto Rican production team Artok Productions, that shows the singer dancing atop a whirling platform, appearing as an optical illusion.
“Complicado” is the first dispatch from the Boricua’s forthcoming EP “La Niña de Oro.”
Watch the entrancing video above — but only if you’re ready to listen to your next summer fave on repeat.
