Sofia Vergara is the TV reina supreme and apparently she has been for years. According to a new report released by Forbes, Sofia Vergara has been highest-paid actress on television for seven years now. The impressiveness of her big bucks don’t stop there though. Thanks to her salary from one of TV’s most popular shows, and a trough of endorsement deals, the Colombian-American actress has a yearly income that beats out, not just the actresses, but all of the actors in town too.
The “Modern Family” star sits at the top of Forbes’ annual list of highest-paid actors.

According to Forbes, Vergara’s loot squares out into an income that equates to 73% more than TV’s second highest-paid actress Kaley Cuoco of “Big Bang Theory.” This past year, Cuoco earned $24.5 million for her role on the show. In contrast to Cuoco who earns 95% her earnings from her role, Vergara earns half of her salary from endorsements and licensing deals with brands like Head & Shoulders, SharkNinja Coffee and Rooms To Go. In total, Vergara earned $42.5 million in earnings this year. That’s an additional $16 million over “Big Bang Theory’s” Jim Parsons who holds the top spot of the magazine’s Highest-Paid TV Actors 2018 list. At $26.5 million in earnings, Parson’s earns just a little bit more than Cuoco.
Last year, in 2017, while Parsons’ made $27.5 million in earnings, Vergara made $41.5 million. (Read: like a true Latina Vergara knows how to hustle.)
Vergara’s acclaimed and highly frugal role has not come without its controversies.
she is hysterical on the show. Love love how thick her accent is.

Throughout her run on the show the actress has been criticized for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, a character whose humor has often heavily leaned into stereotypes about Latinas, many viewers and critics have deemed to be damaging.
Still, response to the news of Vergara’s accomplishment in entertainment has been mostly positive.
She deserves every penny.

After all, it’s not every day that Latinas get to dominate charts when it comes to representation on screen or even at the bank. Today, we still experience one of the largest wage gaps in the country and are often denied roles in television and film. No doubt the roles Latinas are cast as on screen still have a lot of improving to do, but we’re still here for the Latina Power this actress is shipping with her paycheck.
