20 Classic Traits Of An Aquarius

It’s all well and good to know that you’re an Aquarius, but what does that actually mean? Don’t worry, babe, we’ve got you covered. We’ll make sure you’ll be able to talk the ear off the next person who asks you about your star sign. Here are 20 classic traits of an Aquarius!

1. You’re born between the 21st of January and the 18th of February.

Instagram: @bulletdailys

This is kinda obvious, for those of us who are into the signs of the zodiac. But, not everyone knows that these dates are inclusive. So for those of you born on the 21st of January, or the 18th of February: congratulations! You’re most definitely an Aquarius.

2. Your ruling planet is Uranus.

Instagram: @seeker_of_the_cosmos

Sorry, but you’re gonna get a lot of posterior-related jokes over this one. Uranus is associated with sudden upheavals in people’s lives. Let’s face it, is this really surprising when life is never ever boring for you, Aquarius?

3. You’re a humanitarian to your core.

Instagram: @fran_brevis1

You’re progressive, and it shows. You know that you can’t just ignore what’s going on in the world, so you try to make your corner of it just that little bit better. This also means that you’re the most likely of the signs to fact-check every Donald Trump tweet, and then post aggressively about it.

4. Innovation and intelligence are your best friends.

Instagram: @orbit.ana

Remember when Apple Inc. said, “Think Different”? Well, you’re the original, “Think Different”. Some people say you’re weird. Others say you’re a genius. You know that you’re both: it just depends on what way your mood takes you.

5. Friends come easily to you.

Instagram: @meportemal

You’re a friend-magnet. People like how welcoming you can be – so much so, that you can end up associating with some pretty strange amigos. You’re loyal to a fault, too. When people make friends with you, they know they’re making a friend for life.

6. Did someone say, Miss Independent?

Instagram: @mariamonterochile

Even though you’re good with people, you also like your alone time. This can make you come across as a bit aloof. But, let’s face it, you know that your mysteriousness can be hot as hell, too.

7. You’re detached and unpredictable.

Instagram: @fridacoss

Part of this is due to the fact that your intelligence sets you apart. If your friends and family had to sum you up in one word, they’d say, “smart”. So, really, it’s their fault if they think you’re detached and unpredictable: they’re just not operating on your level.

8. Blue and blue-green are your lucky colors.

Instagram: @k_aesthetic

As the sign of the water bearer, it just makes sense that blue and blue-green are your lucky colours. Maybe it’s time to start wearing some blue and watch your luck improve!

9. You’re compatible with four other star signs.

Instagram: @r.baudouin

And who are they? Look for a Libra, Gemini, Sagittarius or Aries when it comes to friendship and love. Not that you don’t get along with the other signs of the zodiac, but these signs set you alight with their intelligence, passion and zest for life. It’s always nice meeting a kindred soul, right?

10. But there are two signs that might grind your gears.

Instagram: @__anakarinaaa

Taurus and Scorpio are two signs of the zodiac that will stump you. You’re a dreamer, and both of these signs are quite pragmatic. But you know what they say, sometimes opposites attract, don’t they?

11. You can be a bit nervous at times.

Instagram: @beautywithnana

You might find that you can be prone to anxiety. So, don’t be afraid to tell people you’d prefer to skip the massive, scary rollercoasters when you’re spending the day at a theme park.

12. You have a love-hate relationship with exercise.

Instagram: @vshleydiaz

You want to be fit, but you hate exercise. Don’t. We. All. You need to dedicate yourself to something quirky before you’d find yourself really enjoying your exercise routine. It’s time for you to find your closest martial arts dojo, or local pole dancing studio!

13. Brains are sexy to you.

Instagram: @optic.dream

In the wise words of Canadian hippie Alanis Morissette, all you want is intellectual intercourse. If someone doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together, should they even be allowed to rub anything else? The answer for you, of course, is no.

14. You’re super respectful of your partner’s individuality in a relationship.

Instagram: @adrianadelaguardia6

You want the both of you to be your own person – just because you got into a relationship doesn’t mean either of you stop being who you are! You are your partner’s biggest cheerleader. They want to go back to college? You’re right with them. They want to go to the moon? You’ll happily help them train to be an astronaut. It’s the Aquarius way.

15. You find it hard to open up in relationships.

Instagram: @bettymonterola

And no-one knows why. Is it because you don’t want to burden your significant other with your problems? Maybe you want your relationship to focus on the happy, good stuff. Anyway, your partner won’t know why until you open up to them about it.

16. You make a great boss.

Instagram: @_jazminglez

You make a frank and friendly leader, and you respect the intelligence and independence of your colleagues. This makes you one hell of a team player, and dependable to boot. Why wouldn’t anyone want to work with you?

17. You get itchy feet really easily.

Instagram: @travel_latina

You hate the idea of being stuck in a rut because of your job. Or your relationship. Or the place you’re living in. It’s this kind of attitude that takes you on volunteering trips overseas, or back to school. You just know that you’ve got to keep moving forward.

18. You don’t care about money when it comes to work.

Instagram: @marianbecky_

Well, to a certain extent. You like to know you’re being paid what you’re worth. But, it’s more important that you’re doing something stimulating. For you Aquarius, there is nothing worse than being bored out of your brains.

19. Your perfect job taps into your intelligence and communication abilities.

Instagram: @milliedelgadonews

Think along the likes of science-based fields, such as biology. You’d also work well as an engineer, since it draws on your passion for technology. On the other hand, with your strong communication skills, you’d also do well as a psychologist, social worker, journalist, public relations consultant, or in politics, as a politician or lobbyist.

20. Your fellow Aquariuses are pretty successful, revolutionary people.

Instagram: @quanta_gramm

As an Aquarius, you keep the company of the likes of Abraham Lincoln, Charles Darwin, Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein. Not bad, hey? Surely you’ve got a chance to join their ranks in history, and change the world for the better!

The Spanish ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ Is Being Shared To Honor Hispanic Workers Fighting COVID-19

The Spanish ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ Is Being Shared To Honor Hispanic Workers Fighting COVID-19

There’s no denying that the world looks a lot different now than it did in 1947. And while the list of all of the positive changes that the decades stretching between now and then have done for the world and minorities, a recent campaign is also highlighting the ways in which our current president could take some notes on certain values the United States held dear during this time. Particularly ones that had been pressed for by one of our former presidents.

As part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “Good Neighbor Policy” effort, he worked to promote positive and healthy relations between the United States in Latin American countries.

At the time Rooseveltaimed to ensure that the North, Central and South American countries avoided breaking under the influence of Axis countries during World War II. As part of this campaign, Roosevelt comissioned a Spanish and a Portuguese version of the U.S. national anthem. According to Time Magazine he also “recruited Hollywood to participate in this Good Neighbor Policy; Walt Disney went on goodwill tour of South America, hoping to find a new market for his films, and ended up producing two movies inspired by the trip: Saludos Amigos (1942) and The Three Caballeros (1944). The Brazilian star Carmen Miranda also got a boost, and her role in The Gang’s All Here made her even more famous in the U.S. And alongside these cross-cultural exchanges, the U.S. government decided it needed an anthem that could reach Spanish speakers.”

According to NPR, Clotilde Arias, wrote wrote the translation at the end of World War II, was born in the small Peruvian city, Iquitos in 1901 and moved to New York City to become a composer when she was 22-years-old. Her version of the anthem is now part of an exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Now in an effort to support Latino communities affected by the coronavirus, the non-profit We Are All Human Foundation’s Hispanic Star campaign commissioned the a remake of the song.

Hoping to raise awareness of its Hispanic Recovery Plan and efforts to help to connect Hispanic small businesses and workers with resources during the pandemic, the campaign brought the old recording from obscurity.

For the song, the 2019 winner of the singing competition La Voz,  Jeidimar Rijos, performed “El Pendón Estrellado.” Or, “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The song has already received quite a bit of comments and support on Youtube.

Hang in there, fam. We can only get through this together.

Thank you for all of your love & support to those who have been readers and customers of @thehoodwitch over the years. ♥️You know truly how hard I work and that this is my livelihood and culture. Visual art and magic ARE my life and practice. Not a peach flavored “turquoise” glitter drink. My magic is in my blood, my magic is in my ability to bring life to my visions, it is creation & destruction. Over the last 6 years, I have been so honored and lucky to be featured in some of the largest media publications internationally not limited to Instagram. This is bigger than that and the creative team for Starbucks knew that. I have personally worked on consulting large companies in their design concepts this work comes naturally to me. “So what’s the big fuss?” My personal style has become synonymous with the visual aesthetic of my brand. No, I absolutely did not “invent” the crystal balls nor acrylic nails but What I created was a space for myself along with other POC to feel represented and have visual imagery that was representative of us. The colorful candles of my local botanicas, my gold jewelry, and my long nails clutching my crystals are certainly not “new” but to see them presented in a manner that I shared visually in this space was. Katherine de Vos Devine @devosdevine is a lawyer and art historian who wrote a powerful and insightful look as to what exactly is happening with this situation and we are sharing it in our story today because more than anything she truly gives the full tea of the situation. I can strip away the crystal balls, the nail art, and delete all of my beautifully curated photos but I will always be me, I will always be my grandmother’s voices and wisdom. I will create, and I will always know my value and my worth. I trust and believe that my ancestors and my guides are looking after me. These giants may have the money to bully artists, creatives, and small business but we know the truth and absolutely must not allow it. As a small business owner, I appreciate you standing with us in this uphill journey and even if it goes nowhere, at the end of the day I can laugh to myself knowing that Starbucks made a drink inspired by HW 🔮
